Jarle - Final Image

The flat topped landmass looked like it had been dug up by a giant mechanical digger as it floated through space on its way to nowhere. Although the landmass appeared solid enough, rocks and earth dropped from its craggy underbelly and disappeared into the darkness below.

Jarle Heavyfoot is a tau neutrino. More importantly, he is a storyteller.

He sits in the open meadow chewing shimmy grass, while gazing into the fire at his feet. The darkness around him is only disturbed by the flames of the fire and the few stars that flickered above and below. As Keeper of the Word it is his duty to record history and pass that history onto those neutrinos who cared to listen to his stories. Nemo is one such neutrino, who despite being over a thousand years old was still only a child neutrino.

What history is Jarle passing onto Nemo with his stories?

Neutrinos are fascinated with human folklore. Humans are strange creatures, part flesh, part spirit, at odds with the world around them. Humans are also cruel beings, even to their kin.

These are the kinds of ideas Jarle Heavyfoot's storytelling most often explores. I guess he is like me, in that interest. And this is what also fascinates Nemo. Hopefully, it also intrigues you enough to come back to the landmass and listen to some of Jarle's stories, some time in the near future.

Skeleton hand heart

Who is the skeleton holding the heart?

That would be the skeleton woman, one of the first stories I told using Jarle's voice... and one of the first you'll read when I eventually publish his story.

You'll be able to learn more about Jarle, Nemo, and the rest of the stories in this book, when I publish it in the near future. Until then...
